Happy 2013 everyone !
I actually want to focus on the more serious side of my playing and my own compositions now.
However, weddings are the best paid gigs that I do and anyway, I enjoy playing the piano to a bunch of people who are all in a good mood.
More importantly is that I am saving up for a Yamaha U1 acoustic piano and I need a few wedding gigs in order to achieve this. And with this new focus on the more serious side of my playing will lead to your wedding guests being more entertained than they would be when I would stress out learning some Beyonce tune that I know I will never play again etc..
So I am whoreing myself out on the web a little bit, in order to get the money together for this new, serious piece of equipment and your weddings will be better for it.
As for what all the ‘serious’ jazz community think of my approach – just listen to the music – and you lot are no more important to me than the average wedding punters either.
It is ALL entertainment at the end of the day.
